Take Time For A Walk

This morning I took a walk. I always want to, but never do. It was a really nice morning and supposed to be a pretty hot day so I felt the need to take advantage of the cool, calm morning. The Boise river runs near my work and the walking path is just a few blocks away so I am always meaning to enjoy a little river walk before work. Well this morning I woke up early and headed straight there. I took a neat pic on my journey...and so, I recomend that everyone take that walk that they've been meaning to. It was a really nice way to begin my day. I might even do it again on Wednesday :)

The Building of a Clubhouse

We thought Riley needed a clubhouse for his birthday, and so it began...
breaking ground

just some sticks so far
a little help from Chris & Preston

so close

Finished just in time for the Birthday Party!
It's Riley's little jungle paradise with bamboo covered walls and even a tin roof.

Riley is 5

Thursday was Riley's birthday. So sad, he's 5 now... what's that, maybe 7 more years until he starts not wanting to be around us? It's too short! We picked up Lexi and went to see a movie of Riley's choice - Kung Fu Panda. It was so cute and the kids loved it. Here they are posing by the huge Po in the theatre lobby. Notice that Riley is doing the same kung fu pose as the panda. He thinks he's a kung fu master now. Anyway yesterday was the actual birthday party and I've got 365 pictures to prove it! I'll be posting my favorites later.

National Doughnut Day

Did you know yesterday was National Doughnut Day? Well thank you to my MSN home page for telling us. Nichole and I packed up the kids and headed to Krispy Kreme for some free doughnuts. Woo Hoo! This is what you get when you combine:
4 little ones
1 Kolbi
2 Moms
1 fancy Krispy Kreme shop
4 hats
7 free doughnuts
5 trips to the bathroom
2 sick kid incidents

an unforgetable National Doughnut Day

watching the process (got an extra kid in this photo!)

I Need A Moment...

...just a moment, to think about my little girl growing up. It's almost the end of Kolbi's 7th grade school year. She has offically traded Build-A-Bear for Hot Topic, prefers obscure music over whatever I'm listening to, has developed quite the dry and sometimes inapropriate sense of humor and babysits. Does anyone else miss those pigtails and the days when I was able to dress her in whatever I wanted?! I don't mind her clothing choices but sometimes I do want to buy her something cutesie and pink and that is quickly veto-ed by her. She hates High School Musical and loves watching Comedy Central (probably where the inapropriate humor comes from, guess thats my fault)! She spends her time drawing, reading and hanging out on the computer. She hates cleaning her room, or anything else for that matter and she just about dies if I try to get her to work outside on the yard or in the garden. I guess this is just 13?

A Good Time With The Girls

Well we just LOVED the Sex and the City movie. We were not the only crazy girls in the theatre that were a little over dressed! LOL We actually saw a group of girls in full-on prom attire with fancy tall heels. The theatre was full of claps and awww's and fun commentary since everyone there knew the back story. It was a great time and here's a shot of me an Nichole afterwards.
